Guwahati bridge challenge: Centre sanctions new rail-cum-road bridge challenge price Rs 996.75 cr in Guwahati

That is one more step by the federal government to enhance the communication within the Northeast & Assam and assist smoothen transport between the banks of the Brahmaputra.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to specific his gratitude for the step taken by the federal government. The approval of a brand new rail-cum-road bridge throughout Brahmaputra close to current Saraighat bridge at Guwahati for Rs 996.75 cr is one other step ahead. Grateful Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji.”

Earlier, the Union Minister of Roads Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari had introduced that the brand new rail & street bridge over Brahmaputra will come up close to the present Straight bridge. The bridge will probably be constructed collectively by the Indian railways and Nationwide Freeway Authority of India (NHAI), he had instructed.
