sugar export: India permits further 2,051 MT uncooked sugar exports to US underneath tariff-rate quota

The federal government has permitted further export of two,051 metric tonne of uncooked sugar underneath the tariff-rate quota (TRQ) to America for the US fiscal 12 months ending September 30, 2022, in line with DGFT. TRQ is a quota for a quantity of exports that enter the US at comparatively low tariffs. After the quota is reached, a better tariff applies to further imports.

“Further amount of two,051 MT of uncooked sugar, for export to the US, underneath TRQ as much as September 30, 2022, has been notified,” Directorate Common of International Commerce (DGFT) has mentioned in a public discover.

It added that with this amount, complete sugar export to the US underneath TRQ throughout US fiscal 12 months 2022 could be 10,475 MT.

India, the world’s second-biggest producer and the biggest shopper of sugar, has a preferential quota association for sugar export with the European Union as properly.
