dgft: Govt permits urea imports by state-owned fertiliser firms until March’ 25

New Delhi: The federal government Monday allowed the import of urea by means of India Potash Ltd (IPL), Rashtriya Chemical compounds & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), and Nationwide Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) for an additional 12 months untill March 31, 2025.

The Directorate Common of International Commerce (DGFT) in a notification, mentioned that import of urea (for agriculture goal) on authorities account shall be allowed both by designated state buying and selling enterprises (STE) itself, or different entities authorised by the fertilizers division.

“Import of urea (for agriculture goal) on authorities account shall be allowed both by designated STEs itself, or by means of any entity/entities (fertilizer advertising and marketing entities) so authorised by the Division of Fertilizers now and again, for submitting BEs at India ports,” DGFT mentioned.

India imported $1.81 billion of this fertilizer in April-January FY24.
