India removes export restrictions on rice, onions, sugar, 6 others to Maldives

India on Friday eliminated the restrictions on export of specified amount of 9 merchandise together with potatoes, onions, eggs, rice, wheat flour and sugar to Maldives for the present fiscal yr.

“The export of above objects ot Republic of Maldives shall be exempted from any current or future restriction/prohibition on export,” the Directorate Normal of Overseas Commerce (DGFT) mentioned in a notification, including that these exports have been permitted to Maldives beneath bilateral commerce settlement between the international locations throughout 2024-25.

India and Maldives signed a commerce settlement in 1981, which supplies for export of important commodities.
