Dehradun: The Centre has accredited the upgradation of 108 roads in Uttarakhand underneath the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. The approval letter was issued by Union Rural Growth and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday.
In accordance with the letter, 108 roads protecting a complete size of 1,197.207 km in Uttarakhand shall be upgraded at an estimated price of Rs 967.73 crore underneath PMGSY -III.
Out of the whole Rs 967.73 crore, the Centre will give Rs 803.85 crore and the remaining Rs 163.88 crore shall be borne by the state authorities.
The approval is being given in acknowledgement of the truth that the hilly areas are hit by pure disasters yearly and other people within the hills must face varied hardships, the letter mentioned.
