DGFT: Rice exports: Exporters who paid duties earlier than ban notification can ship consignments

The federal government has clarified exporters who’ve paid the export obligation earlier than the problem of notification on the ban on rice exports on July 20 shall be allowed to ship that consignment. On July 20, the federal government banned exports of non-basmati white rice to spice up home provide.

Whereas notifying this ban determination, the DGFT had specified about sure consignments which will be exported.

In “leisure” of DGFT’s notification dated July 20, “export of non-basmati white rice is allowed when export obligation is paid earlier than 21:57:01 hours on July 20, 2023,” the directorate has mentioned in a notification dated August 29.

It added that if the consignment has been handed over to the customs earlier than 21:57:01 hours on July 20 and is registered in customs system for exportation earlier than this specified time or is registered within the digital methods of the involved custodian of the customs station with verifiable proof of date and time, these consignments are allowed as much as October 30.
