DGTR probes circumvention of anti-dumping obligation on HTPY import from China

India has initiated a probe into the alleged circumvention of anti-dumping obligation imposed on Excessive Tenacity Polyester Yarn (HTPY) originating imported from China, primarily based on an software filed by Reliance Industries Restricted.

The finance ministry had imposed the anti-dumping obligation on the product imported from China on July 9, 2018 and it’s in power until July 8, 2023.

As per the notification, the anti-dumping obligation levied on the product is being circumvented by Chinese language producers by exporting it after altering the outline, identify or composition of the topic items. It additionally cited the imports of product have elevated solely after the imposition of anti-dumping obligation because the grounds for alleged circumvention.

“The authority hereby initiates an anti-circumvention investigation…to contemplate extension of current anti-dumping obligation on imports,” DGTR stated.

The interval of investigation is 2021-22.
