The Centre has allotted 101.5 lakh tonnes of wheat for the OMSS until March 2024.
“The twenty sixth e-auction was held on December 20 whereby 4 lakh tonnes wheat and 1.93 lakh tonnes rice was supplied. Within the e-auction, 3.46 lakh tonnes wheat and 13,164 tonnes rice was offered at a weighted common of Rs 2,178.24 per quintal for wheat and Rs 2905.40 per quintal for rice,” an official assertion mentioned.
To manage the retail costs of rice, wheat and atta, the federal government is organising weekly e-auctions of each wheat and rice.
The minimal and most amount of rice {that a} bidder can bid has been mounted at 1 tonne and a pair of,000 tonne, respectively. The bidders can bid in multiples of 1 tonne with respect of rice underneath OMSS (Home).
This measure has been taken to reinforce the sale of rice underneath OMSS (Home) and within the current e-auction, the sale of rice has elevated to 13,164 MT from 3,300 MT that was offered within the earlier e-auction.
