Govt sanctions Rs 1,170 crore for street initiatives in Ladakh: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari mentioned the federal government has sanctioned Rs 1,170.16 crore for 29 street initiatives in Ladakh.

In a put up on social media platform X, Gadkari mentioned Rs 1,170.16 crore has been sanctioned for 29 street initiatives, encompassing state highways and different main roads within the Union Territory.

Moreover, Rs 181.71 crore has been allotted for 8 bridges underneath the Central Street and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme for the fiscal yr 2023 24, the street transport and highways minister mentioned.

He mentioned Ladakh, the most important Union Territory when it comes to space and the second least populous within the nation, will witness improved connectivity to its distant villages via the accredited initiatives.

The enhancement in street connectivity is predicted to stimulate financial actions, notably in agriculture and tourism, contributing to the general infrastructural growth of Ladakh, he added.
