PLI scheme: Deadline to use for production-linked incentive for metal manufacturing prolonged until Might 31

The federal government has prolonged the deadline to submit functions beneath the production-linked incentive scheme for speciality metal until Might 31, in keeping with an official notification. The deadline has been prolonged for the second time. Initially, March 29 was the final date for producers to use for the advantages beneath the PLI (Manufacturing-Linked Incentive) scheme for speciality metal. It was later prolonged until April 30.

Earlier, an official within the ministry had informed PTI that the federal government was contemplating modifications within the PLI scheme for speciality metal after metal makers raised sure issues.

The federal government is engaged on a uniform incentive on the manufacturing of speciality metal and contemplating inclusion of extra grades, particularly these used within the defence sector, to the scheme, the official had mentioned.

On July 22 final 12 months, the Union Cupboard chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accepted a Rs 6,322-crore PLI scheme to spice up the manufacturing of speciality metal within the nation.
