In a bid to spice up home provide and keep steady costs, the federal government has introduced that there will probably be no restrictions on the import of tur and urad dal till March 2025.
These pulses will proceed to fall beneath the free class, permitting unrestricted imports.
“The free import coverage of urad and tur stands prolonged as much as March 31, 2025,” the Directorate Basic of Overseas Commerce (DGFT) said in a notification.
At present, the free import coverage for these pulses is about to run out in March 2024. Earlier this yr, the federal government had permitted the import of tur, urad, and moong dal beneath the ‘free class’ ranging from Might 15, 2021, till October 31, 2021.
Thus, the import of tur and urad dal was then allowed to proceed beneath the free regime.
