Certificates issued for 1.5 MT wheat export after ban

The Directorate Common of Overseas Commerce (DGFT) has issued registration certificates for 1.5 million tonnes of wheat to exporters having legitimate letter of credit score, after the grain exports was banned on Could 13.

At an occasion organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), DGFT Santosh Kumar Sarangi stated that some purposes are pending and are being scrutinised.

The federal government has allowed wheat shipments for which irrevocable letters of credit score (L/C) had been issued on or earlier than Could 13, when the ban of the export of the foodgrain was imposed.

Exporters having legitimate L/Cs must register with the regional authorities of the DGFT to acquire registration of contracts to ship their consignments.
