PLI schemes appeal to over Rs 95,000 crore funding until September this 12 months

New Delhi: The production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes for 14 sectors have attracted over Rs 95,000 crore in funding until September this 12 months, an official assertion stated on Tuesday. In accordance with the Commerce and Trade Ministry, as many as 746 functions have been permitted until November 2023 beneath these schemes.

Within the Union Price range 2021-22, the federal government introduced an outlay of Rs 1.97 lakh crore for the schemes.

The sectors included electronics, telecommunication, pharma, white items (AC and LED gentle elements), and textiles. The goal is to reinforce India’s manufacturing capabilities and exports.

“746 functions have been permitted until November 2023. PLI models are established in additional than 150 districts (24 states). Over Rs 95,000 crore of funding reported until September, which has led to manufacturing/gross sales of Rs 7.80 lakh crore and employment era (direct & oblique) of over 6.4 lakh,” the ministry stated.

It added that incentives value round Rs 2,900 crore have been disbursed in 2022-23.

Out of this, 34 would make investments Rs 5,429 crore for air conditioner elements and 30 would make investments Rs 1,337 crore for LED element manufacturing.

“Additional investments of Rs 6,766 crore are envisaged creating further direct employment of about 48,000 individuals,” the ministry stated, including 13 overseas corporations are investing Rs 2,090 crore beneath the scheme.
