The share of crops in India’s agriculture fell to 55.5% in 2019-20 from 62.4% in 2011-12, the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) stated on Wednesday.

In a report on state-wise and item-wise worth of output from agriculture, forestry and fishing yr: 2011-12 to 2019-20, the ministry stated that agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 18.3% of the gross worth added (GVA) at present fundamental costs in 2019-20 from 18.5% in FY12 however the share of this sector in total GVA of the nation is exhibiting a “fluctuating development through the years”.
